So I really want this site to be a celebration of parenting, a celebration of all the joy and love our kids bring us. Yes, we need to talk about the hard stuff too, but let’s talk about it in a way that encourages us to be better parents and better people.
I want to make it really clear that I’m NOT an expert on parenting and I’m not trying to give advice. I don’t have any formal qualifications and I’m well aware that there are plenty of people with far more experience and knowledge than me. I certainly don’t want to advocate any ‘style’ of parenting over any other. So why am I writing a blog and talking on the radio about parenting? I guess because I want to use my experiences as a way to get a conversation started, a conversation that will inspire us to be better parents, to cherish our children and to appreciate what we have. My two children didn’t come easily for me, so there’s not a day goes by that I don’t look at them and realise how blessed I am to have them in my life. Yes it’s hard sometimes, but it’s such a privilege as well.
I hope this site can help you feel positive about your parenting too, and that we can learn from each others’ experiences.
Also if you enjoy this site, why not download the podcast at the Hope 103.2 website.
I’d love to read your thoughts and comments on this site. Also, if you’ve enjoyed reading this blog, please let your family, friends, mother’s group, play group and other parents know about it. Thanks so much!

I heard you talking on the radio today about your grandmother’s brown jacket that you didn’t want to throw out.
Why don’t you use part of it to make a special cushion or cut out a piece and put it in a cute frame?

I felt the same! I was so excited about having kids and I had those same comments made to me when I was pregnant. Once I became a mom, I just loved it too. I’m a stay at home mom and just LOVE it. Kids are the best. Wish we were younger and richer so we could have more kids.
